23 BAYS AND BEACHES

You’ll be spoilt for choice as the island has a staggering 23 bays and beaches. Some are tiny rocky coves while others stretch across kilometres of golden sand. The glorious five bays are amongst the handful which are only accessible by water and you will need a trusty tour guide to take you there.

YEAR ROUND SWIMMING

With a mild climate the island offers the perfect year round swimming environment. Beaches are patrolled daily by Surf Life Saving Queensland and furthermore, Horseshoe Bay and Picnic Bay have stinger nets installed during the Summer season.

SUP, SKI, SAIL

Paddle to a secluded bay, ski around the islands largest protected bay or sail the coastline and discover the steep granite boulder headlands which lead the island to the sea.

LOCAL TIP

The headlands and mountain ranges encompassing the island are absolutely breathtaking, with giant granite boulders often leading straight to the sea below. To fully appreciate the coastal magnificence of the island, venture onto the water and immerse yourself in its genuine beauty.
