HORSESHOE BAY

Horseshoe Bay, a bay protected by the stunning granite boulder headlands.

Facing North, Horseshoe Bay is a hub of activity and relaxation; this is where you will find an outstanding variety of cafes and restaurants, all the water sports action and several tours departing daily. Add to that, kilometres of sandy beach, a kids playground, and plenty of marine life and Horseshoe is a beautiful spot to visit. Often you can spot turtles, rays, dugongs and dolphins from the shore and during the annual whale migration, it isn't uncommon to watch the gentle giants of the sea play inside the bay. Surf Life-Saving Queensland patrols the beach, and there is a stinger net installed in the Summer months.

Up the road from the beach is Australia’s only resort with an onsite wildlife park, where you can have breakfast with the koalas or join in for one of three daily wildlife shows. Venture further into Horseshoe, and you’ll find Solar City, a state of the art skate park, BBQs, and the sport and recreational centre which is home to the Magpies Junior AFL club, Men’s Shed and other annual activities such as the Biggest Morning Tea.
